SVB bank collapse

I find the silicon valley bank collapse fascinating. They had souch of money that they had no where to keep it. So they invested it in the safest place possible. US treasury bonds.

However inflation caused the Fed to raise interest rates.

Interest rates caused bond values to fall.

SVB lost a lot of value in their safe US treasury bonds.

Venture capitalists caught a sniff. They all got panicky. They all got a lot chatty.

They called all their startups and said get your cash out of SVB.

$42 billion was withdrawn in 1 day.

SVB collapsed. Dehydrated.
