How to Remove y6yol.exe
Just removed an irritating virus which calls itself y6yol.exe. Here is the technique for all you affected out there and whose anti-virus just doesn't handle it yet.
1. Open a command line. Then use your Task Manager and kill Explorer.exe
2. Goto your command line and type this in
del /f /ahs c:\windows\system32\olhrwef.exe
This is the master source of the virus.
3. In your command line, goto the root of every drive and type this in
del /f /ahs autorun.inf
del /f /ahs y6yol.exe
4. Now you can restart explorer thru the command line.
5. Last step, run your msconfig.exe and remove olhrwef.exe from the startup options
You're done.
The problem is, this virus has caused a nasty after-effect. I can't see my system files and protected files in explorer. If you know a way to help me out, please leave a comment.
PS: I've assumed you know enough techie stuff to remove this virus yourself. If you want the above steps translated into simpler stuff, leave a comment and I'll get back to you.
Happy Virus Hunting!
